James Michael Marcey, 77, of Maynard, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on February 1, 2026.
Born on June 10, 1948, in Concord, Massachusetts, James was the son of the late John and Barbara (Murphy) Marcey of Maynard.
Known to many as “Jimmy,” he was a familiar and friendly presence in the Maynard community. He was well known for his easy smile, outgoing nature, and ability to strike up a conversation with just about anyone. Jimmy was a friend to many and left a lasting impression on those who knew him.
An accomplished athlete in his youth, Jimmy excelled in sports. He was voted MVP by his peers in state basketball two years in a row and was later inducted into the MHS Athletic Hall of Fame in 2015. Sports remained an important part of his life and identity.
Jimmy was also a proud member of the Maynard Elks, where he served as an officer during his membership. He took great pride in his involvement and commitment to the organization.
James is survived by his daughter, Caitlin Marcey, and his son, Andrew Marcey; his brother, Stephen Marcey; and his sister, Nancy Fuller. He was predeceased by his siblings, John, Patricia, and Paul.
He was also cherished by his many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.
Jimmy will be remembered for his warmth, his love of athletics, and his strong connection to the Maynard community. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Maynard Elks

on March 21, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
